DC-DC Charger 12V

A 12 volt DC-DC charger charges a 12 volt battery from a DC source. The 12 volt battery is the most common auxiliary battery in vehicles, boats, and small energy systems, and the charger that serves it is usually the first charger a builder specifies. The typical 12 volt charging job is a dual battery setup: a starter battery that must stay charged for starting, and a house or auxiliary battery that runs loads while the engine is off. The charger sits between them, charging the auxiliary battery from the starter system while driving, without letting the auxiliary loads drain the starter battery. Where the 12 volt battery is a lithium bank, the charging profile matters as described on the lithium charging page. Where it is an AGM bank, the charger must hold the correct float behaviour for sealed lead-acid.
