48V to 12V Converter

A 48 volt to 12 volt converter steps a 48 volt supply down to 12 volts. Forty-eight volts is the standard bus voltage of telecom installations, data equipment, and larger battery banks, while 12 volts remains the voltage of most control boards, sensors, and auxiliary loads. The conversion is therefore a daily job in telecom cabinets, energy installations, and industrial systems.

Two routes on this site cover this conversion. The buck category lists a 36 or 48 volt to 12 volt option for the straightforward, non-isolated case. The isolated detail page covers the fully specified WGI10 series, which accepts 36 to 90 volts and delivers 12 volts at up to 10 amps with electrical isolation between input and output. A telecom installer choosing between them should ask whether the load shares a ground with the source: if it does not, or if noise isolation matters, the isolated series is the answer, and its detail page states the complete specification.

Power is the sizing figure here. The WGI10 series delivers 120 watts at 12 volts, which is 10 amps. A buyer whose 12 volt load group draws more than that needs more than one unit or a different series, and that decision should be made from the load's actual current, stated in the inquiry. Before ordering, confirm quantity, price and delivery time. Certificates are available upon request.
